Professional Experience

I have come to Psychotherapy through my interest in children's mental health and in therapeutic work with parents and infants. I have extensive experience of supporting people through times of crisis and difficulty, having worked for the past 20 years in local government, social care and the NHS in various therapeutic roles and community settings.  I have experience of working with young people and adults who are living with long term mental health conditions as well as those in acute difficulty due to stressful life events, relationship difficulties or those experiencing grief and loss.

I am currently a UKCP trainee studying with the Karuna Institute in Mindfulness Based Core Process Psychotherapy (now in my third year), and I also work as a Practice Manager of a family support/preventative services team for South Gloucestershire Council alongside my private work.

I have a particular interest in pre and perinatal psychology and in supporting women in the antenatal and postnatal period. I am also involved in running a therapeutic groupwork programme for mothers and their babies postnatally, which aims to offer support to the mum and baby relationship for those experiencing postnatal depression and anxiety or parenting under stress.
