Professional Experience

I have come to Psychotherapy through my interest in children's mental health and my work with parents and infants. I have worked for the past 20 years in local government, social care and the NHS in various therapeutic roles and community settings.  I have experience of working with young people and adults who are living with long term mental health conditions as well as those in acute difficulty due to stressful life events, relationship difficulties or those experiencing grief and loss.

I am currently a UKCP trainee studying with the Karuna Institute in Mindfulness Based Core Process Psychotherapy, and I also work as a Practice Manager in a family support/preventative services team for South Gloucestershire Council.

I have a particular interest in pre and perinatal psychology and am also involved in running a therapeutic groupwork programme for mothers and their babies postnatally, which aims to offer support to the mum and baby relationship for those experiencing postnatal depression and anxiety or parenting under stress. More information about this offer can be found here: www.rockabye.org.uk

Qualifications

I have a MA (level 7) qualification in Infant Mental Health, accredited by the Tavistock Clinic and UEL, and a BSc (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies.

I have completed advanced training in Safeguarding for both vulnerable adults and children.
